Tottenham Hotspur had a successful 2019-20 season, with a trip to the Champions League final an indication of the team’s growing cohesiveness under manager Mauricio Pochettino. However, Spurs fell short in their efforts to grab a trophy—Champions League or otherwise—and they’ll look to change that this season. Spurs begin the 2019-20 Premier League season in the stadium they opened this spring, against a newly promoted Aston Villa side.

Here’s everything you need to know to stream Tottenham Hotspur vs. Aston Villa.

Sling Orange + Blue

Sling TV provides two base channel package options, each priced at $25 per month. Sling Orange includes three ESPN channels, while Sling Blue includes sports channels like NBCSN (where many Premier League matches appear), NFL Network, FS1 and FS2, and local channels. (Sling Blue customers in select markets get NBC, where some matches appear; see if yours has it here.) If you’re Team “Why Not Both,” Sling Orange + Blue combines the two for just $40 per month. To add beIN SPORTS and maximize your soccer-watching potential, you’ll want to add either Sports Extra: Sling Orange ($5 per month) or Sports Extra: Sling Blue ($10 per month). (The latter also includes NFL RedZone.)

Spanish-speaking viewers have quite a few options. For bilingual families, you might consider the Español: Best of Spanish TV package for either Sling Orange or Sling Blue for 24/7 specialty channel LaLiga TV and beIN SPORTS Connect: Channels 4-9, which features matches from La Liga, Ligue 1 and Copa del Rey, among others. Both packages cost $5 per month after your free trial. Sling TV Latino is another Spanish-language package for $10 per month, including NBC Universo, History en Español, and—of import to soccer fans—four beIN SPORTS channels. (And choosing Sling TV Latino + Sling Orange for $30 per month gives you access to ESPN Deportes.) For more information, check out our guide to Sling TV channels and our Sling TV review.

Tottenham Hotspur vs. Aston Villa: What to watch for

Spurs want a trophy this season, and they’ll want to get off to a good start at home to get there. While they’ve been the subject of transfer rumors in the final week of the summer transfer window, they’ve got a good enough squad to challenge for the Premier League title right now. Champions League semifinal hero Lucas Moura and star English striker Harry Kane will be counted on for goals and leadership. Whether Christian Eriksen will be there on Saturday is another matter: Reports had him off to Manchester United or holding out for Real Madrid. They would definitely be a different team without him.

Aston Villa got back into the league by virtue of winning the playoff at Wembley. It’s certainly got an anchor in captain Jack Grealish, one of the most promising young players in England, but the big question surrounding them in the first weeks will be whether it’s assembled a squad competitive enough to compete in the Premier League. The Villains have done some remaking of the team in preparation for that; Spurs provide a stiff opening test for them.
