Trump’s website 404 error message attacks Obama for golfing

The GOP makes coding great again.

A piece of code on Donald Trump’s website shows how deep the MAGA mindset goes.

On Thursday, Washington Post reporter Christopher Ingraham tweeted something he’d found on a survey Trump was asking people to fill out about his first year.

The message reads, “Oops! Something went wrong. Unlike Obama, we are working to fix the problem…and not on the golf course.”

The coding appeared on a website, which as Ingraham noted, is paid for by the RNC.

On Dec. 27, reporters trying to catch a glimpse of the president on the golf course were treated to a large white truck parked in front of the links, obscuring their view of Trump’s game. According to CNN’s Dan Merica, “This box truck is yet another example of the White House trying to obscure that he is golfing.” It’s still unclear where the truck came from, although the Secret Service has denied providing it.

Trump, who criticized President Obama for golfing while on the job, has spent 88 days at Trump golf courses so far during his first year of presidency, according to NBC News, at an estimated cost of $42,510,956 to taxpayers. Obama golfed 333 times during his eight-year presidency.

But the criticism and doubt go far deeper, as the error message shows.

The code was apparently fixed, suggesting that either the RNC or the Trump team didn’t want to draw more attention to Trump’s golfing habit.

But Twitter user @TweTro posted an enlarged version of Ingraham’s screenshot, which showed another error message, this time attacking Hillary Clinton:

The error code would never appear, according to Twitter user Paul Glenn, due to an error in the coding.

The visible 404 message is still Trump-centric, though; it reads, “Don’t worry, we’re making it great again.”
