5 relaxing ways to take a break from social media

After being glued to our computers and phones for so long, the best thing any of us can do today is give it a break. Go do something that soothes your soul or lifts your spirits.

1) Color.

2) Work on a puzzle.

If you haven’t worked on a puzzle since you’ve been a kid, now might be a good time to remember how relaxing it is to lose yourself in one. Van Gogh’s Starry Night brings feelings of peace, but if it’s not your style, there are tons of others to choose from (and even some crude options!).

3) Practice guided meditation.

If your brain feels like it’s spinning out of control, taking the time to do a guided meditation may help. Proven to reduce stress, rebuild grey matter in the brain, and reduce the size of the amygdala (the “fight or flight” part of our minds), a few minutes dedicated to meditation can significantly soothe frayed spirits.

4) Play a meditative video game.

5) Try some yoga.
