Julian Assange loses extradition appeal

Last night, the Supreme Court of the United Kingdom ruled that Julian Assange could indeed be extradited to Sweden for questioning about allegations of sexual misconduct, after 540 days in custody without charge. As the Daily Dot predicted earlier, this was a politically and emotionally fraught event, but no one could have predicted the twists and turns that it took in its final moments.
