You might consider this an instructional video if you feel the need to prepare for life in the post-nuclear apocalypse.

The blacksmiths and craftsmen from Baltimore Knife and Sword are known for replicating famous weapons from TV, movies, and video games for the Man At Arms: Reforged show on the AWE me YouTube channel. Now they’re turning their attention to the melee weapons of Fallout 4. Specifically, to the bladed aluminum baseball bat, an oak bat with nails, and a deadly blade that takes machetes to the next level.

The work on these builds isn’t nearly as ornate as when the Man At Arms crew recreated the famous sword and shield from The Legend of Zelda, but melee weapons in Fallout 4 are supposed to look like things you could actually build in the real world. The Man At Arms put that design aesthetic to the test, and it looks like the art designers at Bethesda Softworks really knew what they were doing!

The blades on the baseball bat are regular saw blades. Add some barbed wire and judicious welding and you’re good to go. The oak bat is carved from a block of wood using a lathe, and has some custom-made nails pounded through it.

The Kremvh’s Tooth sword looks like something out of another Bethesda Softworks series, The Elder Scrolls. Kremvh’s Tooth is a custom modification for a machete that players can build at a crafting table in Fallout 4, but Baltimore Knife and Sword decided to start from scratch with plate steel instead of modifying a real machete.

The weapons couldn’t be tested on raiders and Super Mutants obviously, but it looks like they’d do the trick after the bombs fall. Watch the video and take notes—just in case.
