The actual quote, which Roosevelt gave during a speech on Dec. 8, 1941, is a “date which will live in infamy.”

Here’s the actual speech:

The quote is well known and is repeatedly shared each year on the anniversary of the Pearl Harbor attacks. During the speech, Roosevelt asked for a declaration of war, thrusting the country into World War II.

Obviously, Trump’s misquote of Roosevelt’s famous speech was quickly mocked. An hour later he tweeted out a video honoring Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day but did not delete the botched tweet.

Trump truly isn’t alone though. His wife, Melania, also messed up her Pearl Harbor tribute.
