TikTok is dealing with quarantine depression in unique ways

On TikTok, people might not be making their beds. But they are wearing them.

We’ve all had to adapt to quarantine life in different ways. On TikTok, blankets and pillows have become DIY fashion.

In the Blanket Life trend, users film themselves skittering around their homes in full blanket attire, scored by “Flight of the Bumblebee.” One of the first iterations edited in footage from Cinderella to drive home its truth: Watch out for your “depression blanket” on the way to the fridge.



While many of these videos involved visiting the kitchen, others put a twist on the trend. This is… the depression worm?

Maybe Harry Potter was on to something?

And so pillows don’t feel left out, a separate trend, the Quarantine Pillow Challenge, offered some comfort. Participants fashion pillows into dresses for that glam go-anywhere look (kitchen, bedroom, bathroom, backyard).

However, we don’t advise wearing a blanket or pillow out of the house, though it is tempting.
