If you’ve ever wondered how influencers manage to take those perfect Instagrams, @influencersinthewild is here to show you. The verified Instagram account catches influencers in their natural habitat, taking fire pics, and shares the behind-the-scenes moments with everyone else.
The account accepts submissions from followers who were maybe coerced into taking yet another picture of their influencer friend or who just truly spotted an influencer in the wild. The account only started posting about two weeks ago, but it already has 539,000 followers–and people can’t get enough.
Not only does influencersinthewild post the uninterrupted, occasionally cringeworthy, moments, it also shows the failures endured while trying to capture that picture-perfect moment. There are posts of interruptions like unexpected waves crashing, pedestrians photobombing, and influencers’ own clumsiness getting in the way.
Influencersinthewild is run by @Tank.Sinatra, a successful meme creator who also runs the @memedaddy account. Tank, whose real name is George, spoke with BuzzFeed News about starting influencersinthewild.
“It’s vicarious collective suffering,” he told BuzzFeed News. “Like, we’re all in on the joke.”
Influencersinthewild shows some serious “wtf” moments. But the influencers might be on to something, as we know the efforts lead to some pretty awesome pictures.
Now that Tank has revealed what goes into creating content for the ‘gram, followers are eager to see the end results. Every post on influencersinthewild has comments calling to see the final results. Maybe that will be the next addition to influencersinthewild’s page.
