Coronavirus is everywhere. And sadly so is anti-Chinese racism.

Singer Summer Walker recently added her voice to the online chorus of xenophobes, and despite the backlash that ensued, it appears she has no intention of apologizing.

It all started with an Instagram Story of hers. She shared a video of what appeared to be Chinese people trying to spread the virus.

“That’s some trifling nasty ass shit,” she captioned her post.

Apparently, the video was actually from two years ago, and users promptly called out Walker for sharing the racist content.

“I used to love summer walker but I see why her doctor gave her that shifted ass nose job, it’s what she deserves,” Twitter user @FENDANI wrote, along with a screenshot of Walker’s post.

In response to the backlash, Walker purged her Instagram account of all posts and continued to defend herself. Right before erasing her page, she shared another story in response to the criticism.

“Lol people so dumb, talking about I’m racist and that video was from a long time ago. It don’t matter if it was from 20 years ago, bottom line that shit nasty & IDGAF if a black white yellow or green person did that shit, it’s still nasty,” she said. “& why I ain’t here about none of this ‘xenophobic shit’ when mf’s had ebola? LOL [sic].”

Fans continued to launch criticism and “cancelations” at the singer.

“Summer walker is just…………. yall keep giving her pass after pass in the name of social anxiety when it’s really her unrelated shitty takes that are concerning af. the girl has no tact or decorum and gives no fucks,” Twitter user @TheAshLeon wrote.

While Walker confirmed that she really doesn’t care about the backlash, she still decided to scrap her content for her label’s sake.

“Lmao I literally don’t give a fuck anymore this is app. It’s not that serious. For my label Ima just delete all this shit,” she wrote.
