Pence gets meme’d for zen-like looks during Trump’s White House showdown

The vice president's demeanor during the meeting inspired many jokes.

Vice President Mike Pence is being mocked for his demeanor during yesterday’s fraught meeting between President Donald Trump, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi. 

The meeting between the lawmakers was tension-filled, with everyone zinging each other with one-liners and arguing about who would take credit for a potential government shutdown. 

The most contentious points of the meeting seemed to come when the group discussed funding for Trump’s desired wall along the southern border of the country—an issue that could be at the center of a possible government shutdown. 

Afterwards, White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders described the firey meeting as “constructive dialogue,” which left many people online puzzled. 

However, Pence was pretty quiet during the meeting–and people online noticed. Twitter users compared the vice president to an “Elf on the Shelf,” a statue, and other things.

At least the vice president isn’t drawing the wrath of the internet for comparing himself of Oprah Winfrey again?
