The Armie Hammer sexting scandal has taken another turn.

Last weekend, a flurry of unverified Instagram DMs from the Call Me By Your Name actor were “leaked.” The messages, which made explicit references to cannibalism and rape, set off a social media firestorm, and “Armie Hammer cannibalism” memes quickly dominated Twitter.

Some users condemned the actor for the alleged messages, while others defended what they presumed to be a kink-based relationship between two consenting adults.

It became harder to defend Hammer after yesterday, when Page Six published an interview with his ex-girlfriend and Flashd app creator Courtney Vucekovich, who corroborated the actor’s alleged cannibalism kink and described behavior that, if true, constitutes emotional abuse.

Vucekovich alleged that Hammer once told her he “want[ed] to break my rib and barbecue and eat it” and recalled, “If I had a little cut on my hand, he’d like suck it or lick it.”

She also said Hammer was a master of “active manipulation” and “grooming you for these things that are darker and heavier and consuming… mentally, physically, emotionally, financially, just everything.” Hammer would allegedly text Vucekovich up to 100 times per day when they were apart, and she claims his excessive drinking and drug use made her feel unsafe.

Vucekovich said she checked into a 30-day partial hospitalization program for PTSD and trauma after she and Hammer broke up.

Shortly before Vucekovich’s Page Six interview went live, Barstool Sports blogger Kevin Clancy tweeted a screenshot of an Instagram post that Hammer shared in 2014 of a license plate frame that read, “I’d rather be eating human flesh.” Hammer captioned the post, “I wonder what he’s gonna be grilling for Memorial Day…”

“Armie Hammer’s lawyers must be like ‘FUCK’ every time they log on the internet,” Clancy wrote.

In the replies, people dredged up other posts on Hammer’s Instagram that, in hindsight, are more disturbing than funny. In one, Hammer poses with two women holding a pouch that says “Feed”; in another, he responds affirmatively to a flyer advertising taxidermy lessons. In 2015, he also apparently shared several pictures of a severed pig’s head.

Twitter user @mintalitea also shared a still of the Call Me By Your Name scene in which Hammer massages and kisses co-star Timothée Chalamet’s feet. The scene, which @mintalitea says was unscripted, took on a different tone in light of Hammer’s sexting scandal and abuse allegations.

Hammer’s representatives did not immediately respond to the Daily Dot’s request for comment on Vucekovich’s allegations. Earlier this week, Hammer announced that he was dropping out of Lionsgate’s upcoming movie Shotgun Wedding, in which he was slated to star alongside Jennifer Lopez.

In a statement given to Variety, Hammer said that he’s “not responding to these bullshit claims.”
