With the internet enjoying J.K. Rowling’s recent wicked tweets, it seems like she may have formed her own real-life version of Dumbledore’s Army, standing against President Donald Trump‘s Voldemort.
On Wednesday, Rowling took her skills to Twitter after Trump announced a U.S. military ban on transgender people. While she did not respond directly to Trump, she did strike a solid blow at right wing commenter Tomi Lahren, one of Trump’s most ardent and vocal supporters.
Truly, whom amongst us can forget Trump ordering the killing of bin Laden? Or Obama bragging about barging in on naked beauty contestants? pic.twitter.com/1veorstvA0

Lahren started off her response to the president’s announcement by saying “the military is not a social experiment,” and said she was happy she has a president who finally understands that. She then used the trans ban to slam former president Barack Obama. In her tweet, Lahren said President Trump was dedicated to putting radical Muslims in graves while Obama cared more about “putting men in the ladies room.”
In her true Twitter queen voice, Rowling wittily replied by portraying the two in reversed positions. She praised Trump for ordering the killing of Bin Laden, and scorned Obama for walking in on naked beauty contestants.
JK Rowling just destroyed Tomi Lahren, lol. Politics aside, that’s an epic comeback.

.@TomiLahren is hardly the sharpest knife in the block, but @jk_rowling‘s response has made me very happy. pic.twitter.com/3MtlQnkl9x

However, some felt the British author should not be commenting on American issues. In response, Rowling pointed out that Trump may be the president of the United States, but his decisions have an impact on the rest of the world.

… cosies up to dictators and strongmen, criticizes longstanding allies. Trump might be your shame, but he’s the whole world’s problem. pic.twitter.com/T7cdRG2HmI

Don’t @ her unless you’re prepared for a duel quicker than the golden stitch. Stay woke Rowling.
