President Donald Trump’s personal Twitter account, @realDonaldTrump, tell the story of his first 100 days in the White House and, taking a moment to reflect on this period, analysts from the commander-in-chief’s favorite social network have published some data on his online behavior.
Digging into the statistics, the patriotic nature of Trump’s tweets becomes immediately clear. When it comes to his hashtags, #MAGA, an abbreviation for his famous campaign trail slogan ‘Make America Great Again,’ tops the list.
It’s closely followed by #AmericaFirst, another slogan coined early in his presidency to describe his political aims, and #USA, often an exclamation the president will tag on to the end of a tweet—usually concerning foreign policy.

Trump’s most-used word, according to Twitter, is “Great.” As a former businessman and TV personality, Trump takes ratings and public approval very seriously, even using that terminology to describe his presidential achievements.
“News/media” make the list of his favorite words. More telling, however, is that those are closely followed by “Fake News”—the president’s term for describing coverage he deems to be unfairly critical of his administration.
The president’s most tweeted at accounts also tell the story of his feud with the media.

The New York Times and CNN both make that list, as two media organizations that tend to find themselves at the receiving end of the president’s scathing attacks.
Remember when the failing @nytimes apologized to its subscribers, right after the election, because their coverage was so wrong. Now worse!

The FAKE NEWS media (failing @nytimes, @NBCNews, @ABC, @CBS, @CNN) is not my enemy, it is the enemy of the American People!

That said, Trump’s preferred media outlet, Fox News, and its show Fox & Friends get enough mentions to make the list too.
Mentions of @realDonaldTrump by other Twitter users spiked when you’d expect, moments of high controversy—during his inauguration, on the signing of his travel ban executive order, and the directive regarding the U.S–Mexico border wall.
As for the president’s most popular tweet since taking office? Well, it’s, perhaps, the most patriotic of them all.
Peaceful protests are a hallmark of our democracy. Even if I don’t always agree, I recognize the rights of people to express their views.
