Politicians, they’re just like us: Sometimes they get horny on main and invite the mockery of the entire internet.
Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) found himself on the receiving end of that mockery on Wednesday night after he thirstily quote-tweeted a photo that Tiffany Trump shared. It was hardly a conventional thirst trap; the youngest Trump daughter is dressed in an all-red pantsuit and standing in the hallway of what appears to be a fancy hotel. But that didn’t stop Gaetz from responding with a flame, heart, heart-eyes, and thumbs-up emoji only *checks notes* four minutes after Trump shared the photo.
As you might expect, Gaetz got promptly ratioed, as his thirst tweet currently has 11,700 likes and 12,400 replies. Many people found it strange and inappropriate for a congressman to be horny on main and bonked him to horny jail.
Others accused Gaetz, who was arrested in 2008 for driving under the influence, of being too drunk to wield his Twitter account responsibly.
Other people expressed concern for Nestor Galban, Gaetz’s 19-year-old Cuban “son” who has lived with Gaetz since he was 12 years old, despite bearing no blood relation to the congressman. Gaetz previously referred to Galban as a “helper” and “local student,” raising doubts about the legitimacy of their relationship (and leading some to speculate that the two were romantically involved). Whatever the nature of their relationship, people thought Galban would certainly be jealous of Tiffany Trump, the new object of Gaetz’s affection (or at least lust).
