Oh yeah yeah.

The newest YouTube meme is sweeping the comment sections of popular channels, and KSI absolutely hates it.

“Ladies and gentlemen, we have a problem,” the popular YouTuber’s newest video begins. “There is a virus on YouTube as we speak. I’ve seen it, you’ve seen it, ladies and gentlemen it is everywhere.” KSI, whose real name is Olajide William Olatunji, proceeds to break down the meme that, as he sees it, is “ruining YouTube.”

Scrolling through the comments of a random video, KSI notes the vast number of commenters saying nothing but “oh yeah” in some form. His ire grows as more and more of the comments crop up. “It’s all over my comment section,” he says. “I can’t live like this!”

After a bit of digging, KSI discovers the source of the comments. A video, titled “MaximilianMus – Oh Yeah Yeah.” It was posted by user MaximilianMus on July 7 and since then has garnered more than a million views. The video has early internet written all over it, apart from the Fortnite characters dabbing, of course. Any of us old enough to remember the “Badger Song” know exactly where the inspiration for this kind of repetitive, simple video came from.

KSI doesn’t make it far into the video before rage-quitting. “No. I can’t, I can’t deal with this. Ladies and gentlemen I cannot deal with this,” he says. “This is not a good meme, it needs to die. It needs to fucking die because it is stupid as fuck.”

He then proceeds to outline his plan for eliminating the “oh yeah yeah” meme from the face of YouTube. In the plan, which he calls “Operation Blackout,” he asks users to perform a few tasks. “I have devised a plan that will end the war, but I need your help to get rid of this cancer that is ruining YouTube … First, like me I need you to change your icon.”

Here he displays his photo, which has been replaced by a simple black icon. “All you simply need to do on every single video you see is type the word ‘stop.’ Do it as many times as you like. Every day, until their army is no more,” he says.

His carefully outlined plan has the potential to work, but if the comment section to his video is any indication, the MaximilianMus army is too strong to defeat so easily. The “oh yeahs” flooded his comments in full force, vastly outweighing any obliging comments to “stop.”

It looks like KSI might have signed on for a war he cannot possibly win.
