Syfy’s Superman prequel Krypton kept a low profile for the past few months, quietly casting its lead roles for a pilot episode. Then an early trailer leaked online, and DC Comics fandom went nuts. People are seriously excited about this show, and after removing the leaked trailer, Syfy appeared to release its first official teaser. (It has now also been identified by SyFy as fake.)

Krypton is a prequel series set (obviously) on Superman’s home planet Krypton, with an ensemble cast led by Superman’s grandfather. The pilot episode will supposedly air sometime in 2017.

Krypton was co-created by Damian Kindler (Sleepy Hollow) and DC veteran David Goyer, who co-wrote the Dark Knight trilogy, Man of Steel, and Batman v Superman. So if you’re a fan of recent DC movie adaptations, Krypton is in safe hands.

Correction: SyFy has identified the above trailer as unofficial, similar to the one circulated earlier this week. It’s unclear when the real Krypton trailer will become available.
