CNN political commentator and extremely woke bae Angela Rye won the internet’s hearts recently when she deployed a ten-megaton eye roll against a co-panelist who was trying to paint Donald Trump as a caring philanthropist. Your new political crush, the queen of side-eye, has just struck again, this time shutting down former Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski.
Lewandowski attempted to revive Trump’s favorite old saw, trutherism about President Barack Obama‘s birthplace and citizenship status, by asking why Obama hadn’t released his Harvard transcripts. Rye, who is smart, was not about to take the bait and follow him down that familiar rathole.
“In this moment, I’m going to Beyoncé you,” she told Lewandowski. “Boy, bye.”

She followed up her effortless dunk on Lewandowski by tweeting the CNN clip along with the eye roll emoji.

Politico points out that CNN head Jeff Zucker just explained why the network hired Lewandowski in the first place, and it’s kind of awkward:
“I think it’s really important to have voices on CNN who are supportive of the Republican nominee,” Zucker told Variety. “It’s hard to find a lot of those.”
That’s especially true when the job entails going head-to-head with Angela Rye. Boy, bye!
