Democratic presidential candidate hopeful Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) rejected an invitation to take part in a Fox News town hall, blasting the conservative network as a “hate-for-profit racket” set on dividing Americans.

A post to Warren’s Instagram shared her quote emblazoned over images of leading Fox News anchors and pundits with their mouths covered.

In an accompanying Twitter thread, the Democrat slammed Fox News for “dragging in ad money” by courting divisive controversy in platforming “racists and conspiracists.”

Warren wrote that Fox News “balances a mix of bigotry, racism, and outright lies with enough legit journalism to make the claim to advertisers that it’s a reputable news outlet. It’s all about dragging in ad money—big ad money.”

“I won’t ask millions of Democratic primary voters to tune into an outlet that profits from racism and hate,” she said. “A Fox News town hall adds money to the hate-for-profit machine. To which I say: hard pass.”

Warren then directed her followers to sign a petition against the network located on her website. It’s uncertain the purpose of the petition, which redirects to a campaign fundraising page after collecting the visitor’s email address and ZIP code.

Still, the stance separates Warren from several of her Democratic primary rivals who have already appeared on the network’s televised events, drawing millions of viewers at a time.

Fox News has not responded to Warren’s statement.
