With the debut of Star Trek: Discovery this week, Screen Junkies boldly went back to dive into one of Star Trek’s most beloved predecessors for some mostly lighthearted ribbing.

There’s a lot to love about Star Trek: The Next Generation, and for some fans, the show—and possibly its captain, Jean Luc Picard—are more beloved than the original Star Trek’s James Kirk. However, some of it probably doesn’t hold up as well as you remember. From repetitive character quirks and some questionable acting choices to plots that didn’t really make much sense, Screen Junkies argues that sometimes it felt like the writers fell asleep when writing parts of the show.

But a few things are certain about TNG. Worf will spout plenty of Klingon facts at you. Data will reveal he’s an Android while Wesley Crusher will probably get on the crew’s nerves. And no matter what you put in front of Patrick Stewart—even if it’s absolutely terrible—he was going to act the shit out of it.

Might it warrant a rewatch? Make it so.
