Does California need another giant comic convention? Okay, yes. Yes, it does.

The unlikely duo of Stan Lee and Steve Wozniak have teamed up to bring a new comic convention to Silicon Valley.

The Marvel mastermind and Apple cofounder announced that the new Silicon Valley Comic Con would combine tech industry interests and media fandom. In the convention’s press release, Wozniack wrote:

“When I was growing up, it was hard to be a geek. It definitely wasn’t cool, and that wasn’t easy. I’m happy things have changed because now people are able to be proud of being geeks and being different. Silicon Valley Comic Con will be an event where fans of all kinds can celebrate the Age of the Geek.”

And because Stan Lee can never resist an opportunity for a video appearance, they released a corny teaser trailer as well.

Considering the gargantuan size of San Diego Comic Con, it’s probably just as well that California is getting another convention earlier in the year—if only for overflow reasons.

SVCC will take place on March 19-20 next year, and we already predict it will be mobbed with awesome guests.
