For those of us used to fumbling with a Rubik’s cube for hours or even days, the feats achieved by speed solvers are completely mind blowing.

Dutch 20-year-old Mats Valk broke a new world record on Sunday, solving a 3 x 3 x 3 cube in a blazing 4.74 seconds at the Jawa Timur Open, a cube competition in Indonesia. He moves so fast, it’s hard to follow the action in a video of the record-breaking solution posted to YouTube

How does he get his hands to move like he’s Neo in The Matrix? We’re just going to call it what it is: magic.
