Every self-respecting ’90s kid knows that the only way to get around an extremely inconvenient situation is by popping a Mentos and forging on. Just last week, after getting trapped in my parking spot by a douchey businessman, I mustered up some Mentos courage and got four burly construction workers to carry my car out of the spot. (Or maybe I just saw that commercial enough that it’s been assimilated by my subconscious.)

“Sure,” you might say, “the Mentos Method works fine for regular Joes like me, but what about super-athletic action star Jean-Claude Van Damme?” Do they ever need the extra boost from the “freshmaker”? In this fan-made reimagining of scene from Van Damme’s 1988 breakout movie, Bloodsport, we find out that sometimes even action heroes need a minty boost.

The new iteration of the chase scene gives the original a dose of much-needed freshness. But I think JCVD got a little carried away with the “Mentos” much later in the movie. I mean, look at him:
