Ivanka Trump is on the cover of this month’s US Weekly, and it’s a bold foray by the celebrity rag into the divisive world of partisan politics.

“Why I disagree with my dad,” the cover declares in all caps. It includes a deck that says “Ivanka takes a stand” and a subhead that reads, “Balancing her personal ideals with love and loyalty to her father, the president’s daughter will always fight for what she believes in.” I guess I could just show you a picture of it or something.

The hook is ostensibly Ivanka’s failed attempt to get her father to stay in the Paris Agreement, the global climate pact that every other country except for two agreed to abide by until President Trump withdrew America from it.

Whether the article provides unique insight into Ivanka is unclear, as the snippet from US Weekly on the web doesn’t have any quotes from her, just a magnanimous view from an insider that sometimes Ivanka wins some and sometimes she loses. But the bold declaration caught the eyes of Twitter because many do not actually believe Ivanka is the vehement hardliner against her father she projects herself to be.

The US Weekly quickly spurred a meme that mocked Ivanka by using photos of pop culture icons who held some serious disagreements with their dads. Game of Thrones and Star Wars were popular choices, but so were biblical figures.
