A terrifying police chase in Louisiana ended with a high-flying accident that looks straight out of Dukes of Hazard

Kevonte Dekorey Austin, an 18-year-old in a work-release program in Webster Parish, took off in a 2009 Ford Ranger after its driver was pulled over on Tuesday and was asked to speak with a deputy outside the vehicle. Austin slid into the driver’s seat and proceeded to lead cops on a high-speed chase that reportedly reached speeds of 115 mph.

Eventually, Austin lost control of the vehicle after hitting spike strips the authorities laid down on the highway. The shocking sequence was caught on video, and you have to see it to believe it.

The Ford Ranger landed on a parked Toyota Corolla on the other side of the fence. A woman, Barbara Harlon, was in the car at the time but somehow escaped unhurt. “I felt around to see if I was hurt and could tell that I was okay,” Harlon told local news station KSLA. “God was with me.”

Austin is in police custody.
