This is impressive by any measure.

If you think your dog is an escape artist, you haven’t met General.

The adorable Great Pyrenees cleverly found his way out of the Aquia-Garrisonville Animal Hospital in Virginia by opening a series of doors with his snout. He manages to get out of his kennel, out of the room, into a hallway, through the office, and back out to the parking lot, including through some push doors and some pull ones, which is no mean feat. He even looks both ways when he gets out of his kennel, as if looking for snitches.

Of course, if you’re watching the timestamps closely, you’ll also realize this perfectly planned escape took General approximately three hours to execute, with a pretty sizable chunk of time missing while he no doubt wandered the hallways looking for a midnight snack.

As with so many elaborate escapes, this one came to an end not so very far away, as 10-year-old General was found napping in someone’s backyard. Poor guy probably wore himself out with all the doors! He’s now back with his family, who have returned from vacation and are most likely praying no one tells their pet about the phrase “when God closes a door, he opens a window.”
