Last year we reported on Cuphead, a new game that looked unlike anything we had ever seen. Glimpses into the game have been sparse, but during Microsoft’s E3 2015 press conference we got a look into the story that will drive the game forward.

Development has been long at Studio MDHR, but the team is continuing to craft the 1930s cartoon-inspired game, frame by frame. Yes, each animation is painstakingly hand drawn to give it a classic aesthetic. It’s also a great exclusive get for Microsoft, as its portfolio has been expanding tremendously with many varied games.

Cuphead is slated to come out sometime in 2016.
