Tuesday was the first official day of autumn, so you know what that means? Christian Girl Autumn is back! Though, last year, Christian Girl Autumn arrived on the heels of Hot Girl Summer—this year, summer was less hot girl and more 2020 pandemic dumpster fire.

But Pumpkin Spice Lattes play by their own rules, and like a foliage-hued phoenix rising from the smoldering remains, Christian Girl Autumn prevails.

We know this thanks to Caitlin Covington, one of the OG faces of Christian Girl Autumn, who likewise posted a throwback of her 2019 fall photo shoot at the start of the holiday. “Happy first day of fall!!” Covington tweeted tongue-in-cheek, along with several festive fall-themed emojis.

Covington, a fashion and lifestyle blogger, originally went viral last year alongside her friend and fellow influencer Emily Gemma. Though the internet honed in on an old photoshoot of the two wearing oversized blanket scarves that hit peak popularity circa 2015, they both had a good sense of humor about it. And clearly, she still does!

“We look so basic in our blanket scarves and holding our Pumpkin Spice Lattes,” Covington told Buzzfeed News last year. “That’s not me at all,” she added, over generalizations the internet had over her and Gemma’s personalities.

Though these days, Covington is expecting her first child, she’s still all about those Pumpkin Spice Lattes.

“Wore my ‘mama’ sweatshirt today and it made me so happy,” Covington wrote in a recent Instagram post. “Also had my first iced [Pumpkin Spice Latte] but ordered it decaf and with half the amount of syrup!”

Eh, if you can’t beat ’em, might as well join ’em. Long live Christian Girl Autumn, we say.
