Every once in a while, a restaurant order can come with an unexpected surprise. Whether it’s an onion ring in your fries, or a slightly bigger portion than you imagined, placing an order from a restaurant can occasionally lead to a welcome treat. Recently, TikTok user Dev (@devmoon4) showcased one of these surprises in a video with over 862,000 views.
According to Dev, she had placed an order for 12 Olive Garden breadsticks via the store’s app. Dev claims that she paid just $6.99 for the breadsticks.
However, when she went to pick up her order, she realized that the restaurant had given her more than she paid for—16 more, to be exact. Several commenters noted that this was a common mistake among Olive Garden pick-up orders.
“Look at these f*cking, f*cking breadsticks,” Dev says in the video, laughing. “There was 28 of them.”
Users in the comments were quick to share their own stories of bringing home massive collections of Olive Garden breadsticks.
“I order 6 dozen every couple months and snack on them,” shared a commenter.
“I call it a bread suitcase when we order food from Olive Garden for work,” offered another.
“Last time we went to Olive garden the teenagers who worked there were coaching us on how to take the most leftovers home,” recounted an additional TikToker.

What likely happened here, as many commenters noted, is that Dev ordered meals that came with breadsticks as a side. Adding those breadsticks to the dozen she ordered, resulted in a meal that was pretty heavy on the breadsticks.
Numerous commenters confessed to making the same mistake.
“I for sure did this once on accident,” stated a user. “Didn’t realize how many came with a meal and order hella extra and the box was packed.”
“I accidentally did this once! We called it our trough of bread. Lasted us 3 days,” wrote a second.
“I did a pickup order once and ended up with like 4 dozen on accident,” detailed a third.
“I’ve almost done that by accident,” explained a further commenter. I didn’t know each meal came with 2 and I ordered an extra 10.”
