Imagine how many hours we’ve collectively lost to the spinning beachball of death by now. It’s likely a very depressing number.

Now, you can rely on a different spinning circle of color to actually keep track of time, rather than take more away. This chromatic clock is a design nerd’s dream, featuring 60 uniquely colored LEDs to represent each minute.

The clock lights up the hour and minute hands to display the current time. There are six different animation settings to choose from for the second hand, which pulses around in real time. You can display all the colors of the rainbow, or select customized color sets, like traffic stop or sunset colors.

On the back of the 7 ½-inch clock is a fold-out stand, as well as a slot, so you can choose to display on your desk or the wall. It’s powered by USB or AC adapter, but includes a 3v lithium battery to keep track of time in case of power outage.

You can order the chromatic clock for $49.99, exclusively on ThinkGeek. Fair warning, though: It’s so beautiful, you may be too mesmerized to get much work done.
