Yesterday was President Donald Trump’s big social media summit, and all the heavy hitters from the far-right were there. The guy who thinks Hillary Clinton is dying of pneumonia. The bro who took a picture of a Burger King after a mass shooting. The dude who always uses the thinking emoji.

And of course, the Dragon of Budapest himself, the neo-Nazi endorsing, parking-regulations waving, Rascal Flatts-loving man who always has a bone to pick with the Fake News media, former presidential adviser Seb Gorka.

The summit itself was somewhat of a dud. Trump said social media was important, that his posting army was essential in helping spread his message, and that Scooter Libby did nothing wrong. After, the president took them to a speech in the Rose Garden about the Census.

Not only did Trump’s staunchest supporters get to see their indomitable president bemoan how four people in Silicon Valley have more power than him, but they all also got to watch him back down from an initiative many critics say is a white supremacist policy—after promising to never do so.

In the wake of all that bluster, someone needed to assert some masculine energy. Gorka himself stepped up.

“You’re not a journalist. You’re a punk,” he yelled at Playboy White House correspondent and CNN analyst Brian Karem after the event ended.

That was the extent of the incident, which was captured by the New York Times’ Katie Rogers.

But the little shouting match got hyped up by some publications to an absurd degree.

Which brings us to this morning and the president’s Twitter feed, the loudest bullhorn in the entire world, by which the leader of the free world can dictate military strikes, swing the stock market, and change the course of human history.

Or weigh in on who he thinks won what is essentially a World Star video so tiresome and uneventful you wouldn’t even bother to forward it to a friend.

The 2020 White Social Media Summit is just 364 days away.
