It’s well known that public defenders are underpaid and overworked. It’s also understood that anyone who finds themselves represented by one in court is facing a desperate situation. So when New York designer Lambo Keem came up on charges last year and saw who was in his corner, he didn’t hold out much hope.
MY LAWYER CALLED OUT SICK N HER REPLACEMENT HAS A TAT' ON HER FACE LIKE GUCCI… IM GOIN TO JAIL. 😩 pic.twitter.com/z58dCknbd0

The tweet went massively viral at the time, and a year later, Keem made restitution by noting that thanks to his tatted lawyer, he actually hadn’t spent a single day in jail.
A year later. 50k RTs. She got me off tho, face tat' and all. Shouts to her. https://t.co/bJ2Ef8ker5

It’s nice to think that she never even saw these tweets but at least five times a day inexplicably gets a call from some precinct or other because an arrested suspect is demanding the public defender with the face tattoo. She’s a legend written in ink.
