President Donald Trump is crowning the “Most Dishonest & Corrupt Media Awards of the Year” next week, and before the final votes are tallied Stephen Colbert is taking to Times Square to make sure he’s considered for the “honor.”

In one of his pushes against news organizations that have published unfavorable reports, Trump suggested a Hunger Games-like contest to see which publication would receive the “FAKE NEWS TROPHY.” The GOP even launched its own poll and earlier this week, Trump followed up by revealing that he would announce the winner on Jan. 8 at “5:00 o’clock” (though he didn’t specify which 5 o’clock it would be).

Colbert isn’t included in the GOP’s poll or mentioned by Trump in his initial November tweet, but he wants to receive that award from Trump. So he did what any dark horse nominee with a chance would do in this situation: launch an aggressive awards campaign with the biggest billboard of all, Times Square.

This awards campaign is different than the one you might see for the Oscars. Colbert’s looking to be crowned in several categories including “Outstanding Achievement in Parroting George Soros’ Talking Points,” “The Eric Trump Memorial Award for Disappointment,” “Smallest Button,” and both “Best Sound Mixing” and “Best Chex Mixing.”

He’s even got the ratings—and vote of disdain from Trump—to boost his odds.
