“Most of you watching at home have no idea who I am,” Lin-Manuel Miranda joked as he took the stage to host Saturday Night Live. If viewers were unfamiliar with the Hamilton creator, they soon got a primer.

Miranda remixed “My Shot” from the musical, paying homage to SNL and his own background, while also getting some wisecracks in about the election and Hamilton‘s own parallels to our current political climate.
Miranda’s international fame from the musical helped vault him to SNL. Oh, and giving Lorne Michaels Hamilton tickets will probably help, too. “I can’t promise anything,” Miranda jokes as he makes his way back to the stage. Those tickets really are hard to come by.
