It’s not unusual to hear Kellyanne Conway dish a joke or two as she makes her media rounds. The perennially smiling adviser to President Donald Trump often chuckles her way through interviews. But what would it look like if she did standup?
Thanks to the magic of YouTube, the world just found out.
The video was recorded at a late ’90s charity event where a young Conway delivered a 10-minute set about her life as a political “pundette.”
The set is every bit as cringeworthy as you’d expect with few laughs and plenty of awkward silences. But the young Conway, then Fitzpatrick, mostly holds her own as she delivers a set largely composed of self-deprecating complaints about her weight, her poor sex life, and how she gets no respect as a “pundette.”
But the real highlight of the clip is Conway’s perseverance. She’s got spunk and tenacity. If nothing else, her ability to plod through jokes like “The Five Reasons Why Kellyanne’s Foot is Really in a Cast” show that no matter how disastrous things get, she’ll see a miserable situation through.
Hang in there, kiddo. We have a feeling you’ll be just fine.
