Chance the Rapper freestyle inadvertently started the #SoGoneChallenge this week. The viral gimmick finds people freestyling over the instrumental version of Monica and Missy Elliot’s 2003 track, “So Gone.”

The Chicago rapper’s girlfriend filmed the freestyle, posted Wednesday, as he spit rhymes relating to his love for her and their relationship. It got back to Monica, who posted a tweet saying Chance “bodied” it, and encouraging fans to post their own freestyles.

Missy Elliot and Monica co-wrote and co-produced “So Gone,” both taking to Twitter and Instagram to show their appreciation for the song gaining attention 13 years later.

Since the rapper posted the video, Twitter took its turn at spitting game to compete against Chance.

Here’s to hoping other A-list rappers jump in on the freestyling fun.
