Ice, ice, baby rocket that cracks the ice into a beautiful spiderweb of fissures? Those might not be the lyrics to Vanilla Ice’s “Ice Ice Baby,” but it does accurately describe what happens in a GIF currently making the rounds on Reddit.

Redditor u/SlimJones123 posted an image of a guy setting off a bottle rocket under the ice, which has some awe-inspiring results. Check it out.

You can also watch the YouTube video of this experiment, but it features some guys’ goofy laughter in the background, so you may as well just watch the GIF and play your own dramatic music for accompaniment.

There are plenty of similar videos posted on YouTube, but these results are definitely the coolest. If you’re interested in more dazzling science GIFs, check out SlimJones123’s user page, where you can see things like molten lava poured into ice water. Physics be crazy, y’all.
