Etta Candy stars in the unseen epilogue for ‘Wonder Woman’

It looks like Warner Bros. is borrowing Marvel's idea for straight-to-DVD one-shots.

If you enjoyed Etta Candy’s role as Steve Trevor’s cheerful secretary in Wonder Woman, you should check out the film’s home release. The DVD and Blu-ray will include an epilogue called “Etta’s Mission,” where she reunites the team for “a secret mission that could impact humanity’s future.”

Played by British actor Lucy Davis, Etta Candy is a classic character from the Wonder Woman comics. She became one of Diana’s best friends after Diana left Themyscira and entered the world of men. And despite her relatively minor role in the movie, she was a welcome addition to a story that focused on warriors. Etta proved that you don’t need combat skills to be a hero.

After the events of Wonder Woman, it makes sense for her to take over as the leader of Steve Trevor’s team.

This short film sounds like Marvel‘s one-shots, which took place between the main MCU movies. A couple of them arguably acted as early pilots for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Agent Carter, fleshing out the roles for Agent Coulson and Peggy Carter. We probably shouldn’t expect a similar TV spinoff for Etta Candy, but it’s nice to see Warner Bros. bring back this idea after Marvel stopped releasing one-shots in 2014.

Wonder Woman is being released digitally Aug. 29 and on DVD and Blue-Ray Sept. 19.
