Fans have been excitedly been remixing the teaser trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens since it dropped in November. We’ve seen the George Lucas Special Edition, and a remix entirely in Lego. Now in the latest parody the galaxy far, far away is crossing over into the video game world for an awesome recreation in Grand Theft Auto V.
The Force Awakens is the latest remix created by YouTube user Powerlight-13. He matches the original trailer in every sense except for the need to replace some of the more sci-fi elements with everyday objects in the game. Of course this breaks the immersion somewhat—especially seeing the X-wing starfighters replaced by regular aircraft—but considering the limitations, it does an impressive job of recreating the trailer in the GTA world.
We will probably have to wait for the PC version of the game to be released for Star Wars starships and droids to be created with mods in GTA V, but until then we can appreciate the effort put into this remix.
