Trump associate needs new lawyer for Russia probe—wife pleas on Twitter for help

This is adorable.

There’s an old saying about Twitter: It’s a bleak, postmodern hellscape fraught with horrors unimaginable. But every once in a while, there is a bright spot, and that is why we always stay.

Thursday’s twinkling light is the account of George Papadopoulos’ wife. He’s a former campaign adviser at the center of Robert Mueller’s investigation into President Donald Trump‘s 2016 campaign. Simona Mangiante Papadopoulos needs a lawyer for her husband and has tweeted a request.

While everyone jumped on the malapropism in her tweet, “Your name will go down on history,” and laughed at a woman accidentally misspelling her last name, she appears to be trying to help her husband—however she can. That earnest use of Twitter is downright heartwarming.

Her husband has already pled guilty in Mueller’s probe, admitting he made false statements to the FBI. That was over a year ago. Now, his wife told the Daily Caller she wants her husband to withdraw his plea—and sue the government.

“The idea is to find a lawyer to drop off his plea agreement and sue the government,” she said. “There is no crime. And this should have been objected to by Day 1.”

Ever since he pled guilty, his wife has been simultaneously defending her husband, but also propping up George’s role in the Trump campaign.

Even if you dislike Trump, you have to enjoy that she’s proud of her husband. Sadly, though, your window for becoming Papadopolous’ new lawyer is already over.

Best of luck.
