A woman charged with helping her husband murder a man they lured through Craigslist claims she has killed at least 22 other people as part of her association with a satanic cult.

Miranda Barbour, a 19-year-old Pennsylvania woman, admitted to the slayings during a jailhouse interview with a local newspaper on Friday. Police told the Associated Press that they are now working with the FBI and other agencies to investigate the claims.

“When I hit 22, I stopped counting,” she told the Sunbury, Pa., Daily Item. She said the majority of the murders happened in Alaska, but there were also slayings in Texas, North Carolina, and California in the past six years. It’s not clear if Craigslist was used in the other killings, but it was the way she and her husband Elytte Barbour, 22, met Tory LaFerrara, who was stabbed and choked to death on Nov. 11 after meeting Miranda Barbour for a paid sexual encounter.

Miranda Barbour wants to plead guilty to that murder, for which she’s eligible for the death penalty. She told the newspaper that she disclosed the other killings to “come clean and stop living a lie.” She doesn’t care if people don’t believe her, she said.

Miranda Barbour told the newspaper that she had a bad childhood—she was molested by a relative and joined a satanic cult in Alaska at the age of 13.

While her mother confirmed some claims about her daughter’s past, she refuted others. Police said while they’re taking the claims about additional deaths very seriously, they can’t yet confirm or deny their veracity.
