The suspense is what makes this video a true masterpiece.

A bowl full of popcorn can really elevate the movie-watching experience, but watching those little kernels transform into puffy, buttery popcorn is sometimes just as satisfying.

Instead of turning to a microwave, redditor Hope_Eternity wanted to see if she could produce the same result with an unconventional tool: a hair straightener.

The results are actually pretty entertaining, but blink during this video and you'll miss it.

Hope_Eternity tried several other attempts, but the experiment seen above is her most successful. You can even see some of the other experiments hanging around the sink at the end of the video.

Between making popcorn and making quesadillas, the hair straightener is one of the handiest bathroom gadgets around.
