Takeru Kobayashi has some tough (and cute) competition.

The Japanese competitive eater already holds six Guinness World Records and has worldwide renown, but now he’s facing off in a matchup unlike anything he’s ever seen in his career. Kobayashi is challenging, of all things, a tiny hamster.

But it’s not just any tiny hamster. This one’s already tackled tiny burritos and a tiny birthday cake, and the next step for this critter is to engage in a hot dog eating contest. To make things fair, they’re eating their hot dogs to scale. Each has a coach ready for encouragement as the clock counts down.

Kobayashi may be an expert, but don’t underestimate the rookie.
