The ten-time Grammy winner didn’t mince words Tuesday morning with a series of tweets in support of NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick—the San Francisco 49er who’s in hot water after choosing to remain seated during the national anthem.
After a postgame interview last week in which Kaepernick stated he’s “not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color,” sparked plenty of social media outrage, Legend spoke up to support the athlete’s act of protest.

And acknowledged that, even though he’s not a politician, awareness-raising is something he can contribute to as a celebrity:
How much more political can I be without running for office? https://t.co/y4Iy1BJbdE— John Legend (@johnlegend) August 30, 2016
Honestly, voting Legend/Teigen in 2020 doesn’t sound too bad.
