We know almost nothing about the crime, but we're more than willing to guess.

Police have confirmed that rap mogul Marion “Suge” Knight was shot at a West Hollywood nightclub early Sunday morning along with two other partygoers. Now Twitter is trying to piece the puzzle together—sort of—having little more to go on than chaotic raw footage:

Popularly believed to have played a nefarious part in the bicoastal beef that left hip-hop legends Tupac Shakur and Biggie Smalls dead in a pair of drive-by shootings nearly 20 years ago, Knight has appeared at the center of countless conspiracy theories spun by fans and peers alike. Many were reignited by this latest eruption of violence, which occurred at a pre-Video Music Awards party hosted by Chris Brown. (Yes, MTV’s VMAs are on tonight.)

“@Ambitious_Rome: The government been trying to kill Suge Knight for decades” the govt killed Pac.

Remember how Suge Knight said earlier this year that Tupac is alive? That’s why Suge got shot. #conspiracy

Suge Knight is shot exactly every 9 years.

— Dan Cronin (@croninwhocares) August 24, 2014

Suge Knight can only be killed by silver bullets or a wooden stake to the heart.

— Adam Nover (@YoungNobler) August 24, 2014

Suge knight got shot last night. Hopefully he tells us who killed Biggie and Tupac before they get him again.

2Pac & Biggie got shot..People suspect Suge Knight had something to do with it. Years later Suge gets shot. Coincidence? I think not #Karma

1st Iggy Azalea, then Nicki Minaj backup dancer and now Suge Knight. Someone out there really wants that silver astronaut!! #VMAs2014

— Mark S Hendrie (@MarkSOnAir) August 24, 2014

Incredibly, this isn’t even the first time Knight’s been shot at a pre-VMAs party: He also sued Kanye West after taking a bullet in the leg at the rapper’s 2005 soirée in Miami. There’s been disagreement, though, as to whether he or Brown was the target this time.

Damn so fools Is really out here trying to kill chris Brown though.

So Chris Brown’s bodyguard took a bullet for him and Suge Knight got shot at six times? Lawd. LA crazy…

some guy deadass tried to kill Chris brown at a party and missed so it hit the guy that they suspect to have killed tupac…. wtf 😂😂😂

— veronica (@xr0sesx) August 24, 2014

Brown, for his part, did some solid whining about his party being upstaged. Then, because that settled everything, he linked to video of a kid dancing to his latest track, “New Flame.”

It’s disappointing that we as a society can’t have fun or enjoy ourselves without any altercations sometimes. Miss me with the bullshit!!!

— Chris Brown (@chrisbrown) August 24, 2014

The ridicule poured in after that.

“Gentlemen! You can’t be violent in here! This is the Chris Brown party!”

— PAPPADEMAS (@PAPPADEMAS) August 24, 2014

its disappointing how desensitized chris brown is to violence https://t.co/A54kOKa9zs

— joe sch (@on3ness) August 24, 2014

Chris Brown, who is on probation for beating up a girl and who is constantly getting into altercations is upset about violence at his party.

— Jenny Johnson (@JennyJohnsonHi5) August 24, 2014

Hate to see anyone shot, even Suge Knight. That said I’m glad Chris Brown’s party was ruined.

— Tom Ceraulo (@tceraulo) August 24, 2014

Terrible news today as Justin Bieber, Chris Brown and Suge Knight were at a nightclub when shots were fired and only Suge Knight was hit. :(

Tupac Hologram wanted for questioning in Suge Knight shooting

— Ed Bajwa (@EdBajwa) August 24, 2014

As the shooting took place amid the aftershocks of Michael Brown’s unexplained death, racists emerged from their bunkers to ask why the black community is not as outraged by a civilian wounding a violent offender as they are by a police officer killing an unarmed teen.
