Jason Isaacs, famous for playing creeps and villains like Lucius Malfoy, isn’t shy about expressing himself on social media, and that includes his political opinions. He’s a harsh critic of the Trump administration, and was thoroughly unimpressed on Sunday when he saw other celebrities cozying up to former White House press secretary Sean Spicer at the Emmys.

In an Instagram post from Netflix‘s afterparty, he described Spicer as “thuggish,” a “poisonous purveyor of lies,” and “a giant festering abscess.”

While Spicer did get an oddly warm reception at the Emmys, some other celebrities spoke out against his presence. Zach Braff and Seth Rogen were similarly disgusted, as was Hellboy actor Ron Perlman.

Starting next week, Isaacs will be our newest Star Trek captain, starring in Star Trek: Discovery. His political views mark a significant change from William Shatner, who has recently defended men’s rights activism.
