A viral video shows a McDonald’s employee “close to tears” after being left to handle a large amount of orders alone.
A Twitter clip shows a slate of Uber Eats drivers outside of a McDonald’s in London waiting for their orders. Inside, a visibly stressed woman is handling dozens of bagged orders alone.
The tweet said the woman is working alone, but it’s unclear if other employees were busy elsewhere.
“Absolutely disgusting from @McDonaldsUK#Ealing yesterday,” the tweet read. “About 15 drivers outside waiting to pick up their #UberEats orders, and they had one woman alone running back and forth between the kitchen and handing out the orders. She was so overwhelmed she was close to tears.”
“It got to a point where she was frozen to the spot not knowing what to do,” the thread continued. “Shameful display of management from a billion dollar company.”
Because London and the rest of the U.K. is under lockdown, McDonald’s is only open for drive-thru and delivery. Responding to the backlash, a McDondald’s spokesperson told the Daily Mail: “The video in question shows orders waiting to be picked up by delivery drivers, and we are working with our delivery partners to ensure we eradicate delays in collection wherever possible.”
