Over the past week, supporters of President Donald Trump began turning on Fox News, upset with several decisions the network made, namely its hiring of former DNC Chair Donna Brazile.

The president has voiced anger at the network this week as well, calling out three Fox anchors, declaring them no better than his least favorite network, CNN.

Now, in an interview with Fox Business this the morning, Trump broke out his favorite anti-media epithet for what was once his favorite network.

Fox Business host Maria Bartiromo interviewed Trump on Friday and asked him about his recent feuding with late Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), which according to Trump was off limits.

Bartiromo noted that McCain was dead and couldn’t respond, to which Trump went ahead and bashed McCain anyway, calling him “terrible” and saying he only spoke about the senator when asked about it, which is not true.

But in the exchange, Trump insisted that Bartiromo had agreed not to bring it up. Bartiromo said that no stipulations had been made as part of the interview.

“You shouldn’t have brought it up. Actually, I thought you weren’t supposed to bring it up, but that’s OK, fake news every once in a while,” Trump said.

“It’s not fake news,” Bartiromo said. “You just told me why you have an issue with him.”

Trump has typically reserved the “fake news” moniker for networks like ABC, MSNBC, and CNN for their reporting on him.

His declaration that Fox News is “fake news,” however, is not surprising giving he spent last weekend railing against its decision to suspend Judge Jeanine Pirro’s show over her Islamaphobic comments.

Thanks to Bartiromo, though, Trump finally answered why he is really upset with McCain, noting how McCain was involved in handing over the Christopher Steele dossier to the FBI, which eventually spurred the Mueller investigation into the president’s ties with Russia.

“He handed something to the FBI, on me,” Trump said. “He knew it was fake. He handed it to the FBI, that’s an issue.”
