Bannon seems completely confident.

Although Steve Bannon is no longer in the White House as an adviser to Donald Trump and even though he backed Roy Moore in the Alabama GOP Senate primary against Trump’s pick of Luther Strange, Bannon still apparently has plenty of confidence in the president.

Well, maybe.

Despite Vanity Fair reporting that Bannon has told people that Trump only has a 30 percent chance of making it through his full first term, Bannon told a different tale while speaking Saturday at the Family Research Council’s Values Voter Summit.

Said Bannon: “Well, I hate to break the news to … the good folks at Vanity Fair, but yes, President Trump is not only going to finish this term, he’s going to win with 400 electoral votes in 2020.”

For context, Trump earned 304 electoral college votes in beating Hillary Clinton in 2016. In the past 50 years, the only incumbent president to win more than 400 votes was Ronald Reagan in 1984 with 525.

This week, Trump’s average approval rating was 39 percent, and a new poll by Reuters and Ipsos showed Trump is losing support in  rural communities.
