On Jan. 12, the Wall Street Journal published allegations that President Donald Trump’s lawyer Michael Cohen paid porn star Stormy Daniels $130,000 to keep quiet about a decade-old affair just weeks before election day. Now, details of the tryst are leaking out.
On Tuesday, Slate’s Jacob Weisberg ran the story of his attempt to speak to Daniels just before the 2016 election about the alleged affair. He claimed that Daniels, real name Stephanie Clifford, spoke frankly before suddenly refusing to answer questions—around the time that the payment and non-disclosure is claimed to have been paid. As a result, he dropped the story.
Now, InTouch magazine promises to publish a 5,500-word tell-all interview with Daniels later this week.
The InTouch interview, is the first real confirmation of the affair by the adult film star. The interview took place in 2011, long before the adult film star allegedly signed a non-disclosure and possibly received hush money. The magazine claims that two other sources have corroborated Daniels’ story and that she took a polygraph lie detector test.
On Wednesday, the magazine published an excerpt online and more of its print magazine. According to a source at the magazine, who spoke to the Daily Beast, the film star holds nothing back, in the interview, detailing “[w]hat he’s like in bed, pillow talk … what he’s like down there…” in a conversation described simply as “cray.”
It’s difficult to keep up and this one is snowballing, but here’s what Daniels has said so far:
The affair started in 2006, at a golf tournament, just four months after the birth of Trump’s youngest child
According to Daniels, the pair met at the American Century celebrity golf tournament at the Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course in Nevada, in July 2006. If the allegations are to be believed, twice-divorced Trump cheated on his new wife Melania just one year after they married, in 2005, and a mere four months after she had given birth to their son Barron.
“[He] kept looking at me and then we ended up riding to another hole on the same golf cart together,” she said.
She claims that Trump visited the booth sponsored by the adult film company she worked for, then asked for her number and a picture before inviting her to dinner.
The sex was “textbook generic”
During their first encounter, they ate in Trump’s room before he allegedly invited the porn star to join him in bed, an experience she described as “nothing crazy.”
“It was one position,” Daniels said. “What you would expect someone his age to do.”
Trump asked her to sign a DVD copy of her adult film 3 Wishes
During this alleged first encounter, the then-future-president apparently asked the porn star to sign a copy of one of her movies, according to Slate.
Daniels has starred in over 150 adult films, winning an Adult Video News award, and appeared in two Hollywood feature films, The 40-Year-Old Virgin and Knocked Up. She started her career as a stripper when she was 17 years old and became a contracted porn star back in 2000.
Trump said he reminded her of his daughter
“We had really good banter,” Daniels tells InTouch, according to Slate. “He told me once that I was someone to be reckoned with, beautiful, smart, just like his daughter.”
It is not specified whether he was referring to Ivanka or Tiffany or if the words came before or after the alleged affair.
Trump made the porn star lots of promises, including a run on The Apprentice
Daniels claims that after the pair had sex, Trump promised that he would call her again and made her a bunch of promises that he did not fulfill. Not only did he offer to buy her a condo in Tampa, Florida, but he said he would feature her as a contestant on an upcoming season of The Apprentice, which he hosted at the time.
Trump continued to contact the porn star regularly
Daniels claims that the two had several more encounters in the months that followed this initial encounter, once at his private bungalow at the Beverly Hills Hotel in Los Angeles, California. She also claims that Trump would contact her every 10 days after their first meeting.
