Donald Trump is no stranger to attacking members of his own party on Twitter. But on Sunday, Sen. Bob Corker (R-Tenn.) shook off Trump’s insults and came back with a doozy of his own.

Here’s how Trump led off the morning against Corker, who’s already announced he won’t run for reelection in 2018.

Not long after, Corker slammed back at the president with an even greater burn.

Though Trump likely needs Corker to help him pass his legislative agenda, their feud isn’t a new one. Trump has ranted about how the Senate should kill its filibuster rule, but in July, Corker said, “It would probably be best if the president let Congress deal with those issues ourselves.”

One reason for Trump’s latest outburst likely was because Corker last week alluded to Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, Defense Secretary Jim Mattis, and White House Chief of Staff John Kelly as the “people that help separate our country from chaos.”
